Assistance League of Tucson, a chapter of Assistance
League®,
is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsectarian volunteer
service organization and is qualified under IRS Code 501
(c)(3) and Arizona Tax Credit Law ARS 43-1088. In
addition to receiving a tax deduction on your Federal
tax return for your donations, you may also qualify for
a deduction on your Arizona State tax return under the
Working Poor Tax Credit.
The Working Poor Tax Credit provides
additional tax benefits. Under the provisions of Arizona Revised
Statutes Section 43-1088, an individual can make a contribution of up to
$200 and a couple can make a contribution of up to $400 to Assistance
League of Tucson and receive a tax credit for the amount of the donation
on the Arizona return and a Federal itemized deduction for the amount of
the donation. Please consult your tax advisor to learn more about
how this tax credit applies to your donation.
Our
reviewed financial statements for the fiscal year
ending April 30, 2011 show our financial status as well
as detailing how much is spent on our philanthropic
programs and how much we receive in donations and
earnings from Assistance League Thrift Shop to support
our programs. The
IRS
Form 990 shows our tax exempt return for the same period.
